Did you know that a lot of scenes in the Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan was shot in Hanoi in Vietnam? Most of the fight sequences between Mohanlal and the tigers were shot at the forests around this 1000-year-old city. But Hanoi is not just the forests you see in this flick there is a lot more to it. 1) Hanoi Old Quarter

The Old Quarter retains the original street layout and is famous for its small shops specializing in silk and jewelry. It is the place you head for to get a taste of the street food, the markets and also an active nightlife. And needless to say, it is one of the top tourists hot spots. Take a stroll down the roads. 2) Water Puppet Theatre

Water Puppetry dates back to the 11th Century and is a unique variation on the ancient puppet tradition. Puppets are made out of wood and then lacquered. The shows are performed in a waist-deep pool.

4) Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Vietnam

A taxi ride will take you to the Temple of Literature founded in 1070 AD. The grounds are comprised of traditional buildings, courtyards, and gardens. Make sure you have a guide, or else you will not enjoy this trip. 

5) Ceramic village

Bat Trang is a small village about 13 kilometers south-east of Hanoi center. The famous ceramic and pottery products of high quality, it is a must visit.
