Prince Family Restaurant, a 'reformed' hotel

The Prince Family Restaurant in Kottayam is a converted hotel that was once a bar. Operating in two stories with spruced up facilities for its guests, the hotel offers AC and non-AC services. A unique advantage of this hotel is that even though it is located in the middle of the town in Kanjikuzhy, it has ample parking space.

The ambience inside the hotel is both traditional and modern at the same time. Artefacts from a foregone era welcome you while the dim light and soft music sets the perfect locale for a scrumptious dinner. Since space is ample, families can enjoy their own nooks in the hotel. The menu is rich and one has to spend some time making the perfect choice for the evening. Vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dishes stand out in taste and it is difficult deciding which is one is the better.

While the hotel offers many different preparations to make your evening, it has two unique preparations that are perhaps not available anywhere else- while one shouts out its taste through its name, the other seems to affirm its lineage.

Chilly Prawns 'Piralan' & Catholic Chicken

Be it Chilly Prawns or the Catholic Chicken, they are said to tango when the it hits the wok with processed tamarind and red chillies.

The hotel is also well known for its fish recipes such a 'Meen pollichathu' and fish masala. While various types of fish including crab preparations are available, beef dry fry and ethnic chicken curries top the charts for their popularity. The hotel also offers Chinese fare.

An attraction at the hotel is the Thali for Rs60, which also offers a dessert. Dum biriyanis also have their special place of honour here and beef, chicken, egg and vegetable biriyanis are available here.

Those interested may also hold conferences and parties here.
