Thodupuzha: Engage your taste buds with toddy shop recipes without going to a toddy shop. This hotel named 'Tharavadu Family Restaurant' specializes in all kinds of nonvegetarian dishes, which also include Kuttanadan delicacies made of crabs, prawns and squids.

While the name of the hotel effuses freshness which an ordinary toddy shop lacks, the dishes of the hotel retain the authenticity of toddy shop recipes. The restaurant specializes in serving all kinds of dishes available in Kuttanadu, a place famed for its exotic food items.

The signature dishes of the restaurant include preparations made of crabs, prawns, squids and pearl spot (karimeen). The only restaurant in Thodupuzha where all these delicacies are served is this hotel situated on the Thodupuzha – Pala Road.

The raw materials for Kuttanadan dishes are brought in from Aleppey and Ernakulam. They do not believe in cooking and preserving food in advance, as the authentic taste would vary. Piping hot dishes will be served in front of you within 10 minutes of placing order.

Although a small restaurant, the dishes are prepared under the watchful eyes of a chef who has experience in working at star hotels. In addition to Kuttanadan delicacies, meat varieties like pork, chicken, beef and kappa, kallappam, chappathi and porotta are also available any time.
