I love traveling. And I have to thank my parents for it. But of late I have noticed that my mother does not really like to travel much, unless the trip includes a visit to a temple. I am sure there are many moms who are like my mother; not interested in mall hopping or spending time looking at kids scream down a water slide at a theme park. We list out some trips that you could make keeping everybody happy.
A trip to Rameswaram is essentially one that will leave anyone in awe. A ride across the Pamban Bridge with the waters of the strait lapping underneath – be it on a train or a car is an experience. A dip in the ocean, followed by the ritualistic bath at the 22 thrithas is supposed to wipe out all your sins. Check into a hotel, clean up and head out to Dhanushkodi, the lost city. And trust me no one will be complaining.

Once a port that traded with ancient Rome and Greece, Velankanni or Velanganni, is now famous for the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health or the 'Velankanni Amma' in the local language. Read more Velankanni: In search of miracles
3) Thazhathangadi Juma Masjid
The ancient juma masjid at Thazhathangadi is opening its doors to women who follow Islam on May 8, coinciding with Mother's Day. So why not take your mother there? This ancient mosque in Kottayam, Kerala threw its doors open to women on April 30 for the first time and it saw a lot of happy women making a bee-line to the mosque.
PS: You may not be a believer, nor will it gain you brownie points. But, it could just be a gesture to that special woman on #Mothersday
