Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan has a playful side to her personality and it is evident in the videos she shares on Instagram. Sara's recent video shot in Varanasi shows the starlet acting as a tour guide at Viswanath Lane in the holy city.
With her untied hair, Sara is wearing a peach-coloured shawl and a big necklace in the video. She also has a red, religious mark on her forehead. As the actress introduces each shop, nobody seems to recognize her.
However, when the video was shared on Instagram, many of Sara's fans commented that it wasn't safe to hang around public places without a mask in the times of corona.
Varanasi, also known as Kashi and Benaras, extends 6 km along the western banks of the river Ganges in Uttar Pradesh state.
The city is considered sacred by followers of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. There are innumerable temples in Varanasi, from ancient rock structures to modern shrines. The place is also noted for the renowned Varanasi sarees and local wrestling.
The most popular pilgrimage centre in the city is the Kashi Viswanath Temple. Around 400 festivals take place in Varanasi every year and the most important celebrations are held during Sivaratri.
The place attracts thousands of visitors every day. However, summers are often unbearable and the ideal time for a trip is during the October-March period.
