Kochi: Kochites can now add a cruise ship ride to their evening fun activities as the state-owned Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) is offering a three-and-a half hour cruise ship ride off Kochi.
KSINC will engage two vessels – one with a capacity to carry 92 people and the other with a capacity to carry 72 people - everyday between 3pm and 5pm. A ride in these cruise ships would cost Rs350 per head.
KSINC terms a trip in Sagara Rani, one of the vessels to be used for the cruise ride, to be something different from a routine boat cruise.
On board are offered entertainment and light refreshments. The trip at 5pm will also provide the delight of watching sunset, and the night visuals of Kerala's fast-growing city.
The cruise vessel departs from the Ernakulam boat jetty. Sagara Rani, listed in the Indian Register of Shipping, is the only vessel that is at present allowed to take to the sea. The cruise will cover landmarks of Kochi like the Rainbow Bridge and the Kettuvallam Bridge on Marine Drive and the Bolgatty Palace, and Raman Thuruthu (Candle Island), Cochin Port, Willingdon Island, Taj Hotel, Vypin islands etc.
