Travelling in a houseboat along the placid backwaters is an experience that no one should give a miss. Kumarakom in Kottayam, which is termed the Netherlands of Kerala thanks to the overwhelming presence of water bodies in the area, is a dream destination for travellers.

With the summer vacations having started, it is celebration time for kids and people are setting out with families for various places to spend some quality time. Kumarakom, with its scenic backwaters, boating, and delicious cuisine, which includes the eternal favourite pearl spot, has long been a favourite among Keralites.

Now, Tharavadu Heritage Home at Kumarakom is offering a special package to make your vacation more interesting.

Rs 800 per person

The tariff offered by Tharavadu for group travellers is very attractive. At Rs 800 per person, a welcome drink, a two-hour ride on a 'shikari' boat to enjoy the scenery of the backwaters, Kerala non-vegetarian meal, use of the swimming pool, two rooms for getting fresh as well as taking a short rest and evening tea and snacks are covered. Applicable to groups of a minimum 10 persons, the package is effective between 11 am and 4 pm.

The Kumarakom Tharavadu Heritage Home is designed to please travellers who love Kerala's culture and way of life. Tharavadu has retained the charm of a typical traditional house on the banks of the Vembanad lake. It is, in fact, an authentic traditional house that is 140 years old.
