Why not check out Parannur Chira this weekend?

A natural combination of gushing waters, green landscape, and clear blue skies make the Parannur Chira Tourism Village in Thrissur an ideal pastoral location to chill out. Once a quiet and undisturbed haven of tranquility, deliberate efforts at capitalizing on the tourism potential of the place have started yielding results. The holiday rush, especially around Onam, is a testimony to this effort.

The water gushing out of rocks, the swaying palms and the acres of greenery around must surely be a synonym for tranquility. This is what defines the beauty of the tourism village.

With the rains coming down in copious drops, water flow from the Vazhani dam saw the lake swelling up. Small ponds and rivulets too started overflowing turning the place into a visitors’ paradise. So compelling was the sight of water shimmering down the rocks. Over the months, the number of visitors seeking to roll about and swim around in the lake has increased considerably.

Flocks of migratory birds fishing for food in the lake and tiny water bodies are a sight to feast on. The Parannur Tourism Village is a part of Choondal panchayat’s  water reservoir. Drawing people to it is the naturally endowed beauty and the perennial greenery of its environs.
